چکیده

Graphite furnace techniques are characterized by excellent analytical sensitivity. They are methods of choice for the determination of trace elements in various environmental, biological, and clinical samples. However, they can be plagued by chemical and background interferences which complicate methods development and sample analysis. Using the graphite platform technique, these interferences can be reduced. The graphite platform is placed in the graphite tube. Sample atomization takes place from the platform rather than the tube wall. The temperature of the platform lags behind the temperature of the tube wall and the gaseous environment. This temperature lag causes delayed sample vaporization and analyte atomization. This can reduce chemical and background interferences.

Measuring Conditions for the Determination of Lead in Iron-Matrix Samples Using Graphite Atomizers with/without a Platform in Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

In graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GF-AAS), the atomization process of lead occurring in graphite atomizers with/without a platform plate was investigated when palladium was added to an iron-matrix sample solution containing trace amounts of lead. Absorption profiles of a lead line were measured at various compositions of iron and palladium. Variations in the gas temperature we...

Development of a New Method for the Determination of Arsenic in Baby Formulas by Using Extraction Method

The determination of arsenic in five different extraction environments (acetic acid, EDTA, NaOH, MeOH/H2O, acetonitrile) from baby formulas sold in the market was tested. Total arsenic contents were analyzed with Flow Injection-Hydride Generation-Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (FI-HG-AAS) and Graphite Furnace-Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (GF-AAS) after digestion of samples with nitric acid us...
